We have had lots of fun during our Roald Dahl topic. We wrote instructions to help the Twits keep clean. We took part in a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory workshop and we learned an Oompa-Loompa dance. Willy Wonker needed our help to plan his fantastic chocolate party. We wrote invitations and designed and made chocolate crispy cakes with a hidden treat. We had a magnificent chocolate party in school!
We looked for signs of Autumn in our garden. We saw the leaves on the trees were changing colours and falling from the trees. We have been collecting leaves and seeds that have fallen from the trees to look at in our classrooms.
Once again, we had our Annual Toy Service at St George’s Church on Monday 5th December. It was a fantastic afternoon, well attended by all our parents/carers.
Our Year 2’s led the celebrations with reception, and Year 1 joined in with some fantastic singing. All the toys were donated to Children North East who will ensure the gifts support local children and their families this Christmas.
Water Safety Roadshow
Year 1 and 2 had a visit from the RNLI to discover more about staying safe near water. We found out about different flags to be aware of and what to wear… we now know how to be Super Safe!
Our Year 1 and Year 2 musicians have worked hard with Helen and Ele across the term. Parents/Carers were invited into school for an ensemble session showcasing their fantastic efforts.
