World Book Day 2018
Although rescheduled due to the snow – the show must go on! We had a lovely day celebrating all the things we love about books. We enjoyed visits from the junior children who shared stories with the younger children. Their was also a visit from an alien who loved underpants…. did anyone see?
Science Week 2018
We had an amazing week finding out about light/dark and colour for our science week.
Huge thanks to teachers from Harton Academy who worked with the children. We had so much fun!
Funtime lunchtimes are well underway now with each day being a different day for equipment and games. The children (and lunchtime staff!) are having lots of fun and keeping active!
On Thursday 2nd November we had a visit from a local firefighter to share all of the ways we can stay safe this bonfire night.
Please visit www.twfire.gov.uk/bonfire for lists of organised events in our area.
Visit from Jonny Duddle
On Friday 17th November Year 1 and Year 2 had a very special visitor in school. The author Jonny Duddle joined us for the morning to explain how he became an author and describe the process of writing and illustrating his books.
We all thoroughly enjoyed listening to him read a story to us and were extremely impressed with his drawing skills. He drew us two amazing pirates!
Here are some pictures of his visit.
Year 2 Singalong
Year 2 made us all feel extremely Christmassy with their sing-a-long this week
Once again a fantastic Christmas lunch from our kitchen staff. We were all full to the brim (including staff and governors!) Thank You!
Time For talk Reception
During ‘Time for Talk’ day the children in Reception discussed the feelings of happiness and sadness. We passed a soft toy around the circle and told the group what makes us feel happy and what makes us feel sad. We also talked about how we can make ourselves happy again if we have been feeling sad.
Our friends were really good listeners too!
Time for Talk Year 1
In ‘Time for Talk’ today we discussed feelings. First we decided what feelings people have. Then when we were holding Jerry the giraffe we talked about how we were feeling and why. We shared a time when somebody made us feel happy and when someone made us feel sad. Finally, we rolled a ball to a friend in our class and gave them a message that would make them feel happy.
