Letter from Head

Dear Visitors

Welcome to East Boldon Infant School

East Boldon Infant School caters for pupils between the ages of 4 –7 years.

We aim to provide a warm, caring and stimulating environment within which our pupils are happy, secure and confident.

We provide a broad, balanced, well – researched and stimulating curriculum, with high expectations for all, that enables all children to reach their full potential. Our highly trained and experienced staff encourage positive attitudes and high standards in both work and behaviour, ensuring equal opportunities and respect for all. The curriculum we offer provides opportunities for the children to gain language, reading, writing, mathematical, scientific and technical skills, as well as developing their confidence and self-esteem, enabling them to make decisions and to articulate feelings and ideas. We use a variety of teaching and learning strategies, incorporating problem solving and Thinking skills activities across the curriculum. We also attach great importance to the development of the children’s social skills and encourage them to build good relationships with children and adults alike, to be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others.

As an inclusive school we aim to provide for the needs of all the children. The curriculum we offer is enriched and differentiated to ensure it provides breadth and challenge for all pupils, including those with special needs and high attainers. The staff are highly skilled in assessing each pupil’s individual level of development and then supporting them in progressing at their own pace, to reach their full potential.

We aim to establish a good liaison between home and school, working together to provide the very best education for our children. We value your support and involvement in this process and will endeavour to keep you well informed and up to date with your child’s progress.

We hope that your time with us will be a happy one.

The child who is happy and enjoys school will be the one who benefits most from all that the school has to offer.

Regards

Mrs V. Gasston
