English/Literacy
- Read, write and consolidate the following graphemes – ay, ou, ie, zh, oy, ir, ue, aw, wh, ph, oe, au, a-e, e-e, i-e, o-e, u-e. Also high frequency words.
- Reinforce reading skills through shared, guided and independent reading of fiction, non- fiction and poetry.
- Creative and non-fiction writing focusing on using adjectives, similes and reinforcing basic sentence structure.
- Speaking and listening enhanced by drama activities.
Number work
- Counting, reading, writing, adding and subtracting numbers up to 100.
- Dividing numbers into tens and ones.
- Using a number line to add and subtract 9,10,11.
- Recognising and using doubles and near doubles.
- Estimating measuring and comparing length using non-standard and standard units.
- Simple problem solving.
Science
Health and growth – recognising similarities and differences between living things.
Electricity – constructing simple circuits, using bulbs, batteries and wires.
