The PTA are organising two events for the end of term as fun days with the children. We have not specified any donation prices for these events but we would be happy if at least every parent donated £1 for each event. If you wish to donate more, then this is very appreciated and all donations will go towards the purchase of the defibrillators.
Wear your colours day – Monday 19th July please come into school in your favourite football kit / favourite colour to celebrate the end of the Euros Football competition!
Shorts and Shades Summer Fun Day – Wednesday 21st July please come into school in your shorts and shades for a day of fun! A visit from an ice cream van will hopefully take place on the afternoon (cost covered by school for each child).
We have been notified by a parent that the food bank we regularly support (South Tyneside Key Project) has sent out a second appeal in three weeks. As it is approaching the summer break we would like to request any donations from yourselves to be sent into school on the morning of Wednesday 21st July. These donations can be left in the shelter and the parent who notified us of this appeal will happily ensure they are taken across to the food bank.
Suggestions of donations include all tinned items, instant mashed potato, hot dogs, custard, noodles, rice, cereal, tea, coffee, pasta, bottles of cordial, curry sauce, UHT milk, washing powder, washing up liquid, shower gel, soap and toothpaste.
We break up for May half term on Friday 28th May and return back to school on Monday 7th June. I hope you all have a fun and safe break!
Next week is National Children’s Gardening Week. We will send out a helpful newsletter with lots of ideas to get you going in the garden. Please visit www.childrensgardeningweek.co.uk for more information.
